Adam’s Notebook

Profile

My name is Adam Leveridge and I recently graduated from the University for the Creative Arts in Farnham Surrey with a First class BA Honours Journalism degree.

I have been pursuing a career in journalism since the age of 13, but my main passion in life has always been motor sport. I raced Go Karts for a number of years and was determined to become a successful racing driver. Unfortunately I was forced to hang up my helmet when I became seriously ill, as I lost most of my vision. Despite this, my love of motor sport bounced back unhindered. I have gained a huge amount of knowledge over the years am I hope to use this in my work as a journalist.

I got my first journalistic job at the end of 2004 when I became a motoring writer for a magazine called the InfoTrader, which was based on the Coasta Blanca in Spain. This opened up other opportunities for me. I was head hunted by a mens magazine called XS, which led on to other one-off opportunities with a variety of other publications, including a women’s magazine.

My most recent work placement was with Autosport. This was the magazine that sparked my interest in journalism so, to get the opportunity to experience working at Autosport was incredibly exciting for me. I learnt a lot from my time at Haymarket and, from the work placement, I managed to secure a place on the magazine’s freelance list.
